  • When Rama and Lakshman finally return from deceptive deer hunt, they discover poor Jatatyu, bleedng and dying. Ravana has cut off his wings and escaped with Sita. Rama builds a funeral pyre for the noble bird and also summons the seven holy rivers of India (All Goddesses) to wash away his ashes and bring his soul to liberation.
